Enterprise private cloud and virtualization
A phased reference architecture for consolidating enterprise applications into a managed virtual infrastructure, with capacity, resilience and operational ownership agreed before deployment.
Architecture and delivery scope
Application inventory — list business systems, operating systems, dependencies, current CPU and memory use, storage growth and required recovery targets.
Compute pool — assess server platforms against measured workloads, supported hypervisor versions, licensing and expansion requirements; verify each proposed hardware configuration.
Storage design — define the required shared storage or distributed storage architecture, usable capacity, protection overhead and a tested data recovery process.
Network boundaries — separate management, storage, migration and application traffic as required; confirm switch ports, uplinks and access policies for the selected topology.
Resilience plan — agree the acceptable maintenance windows and failure scenarios, including the resources needed when a host is unavailable. Validate behaviour in a pilot.
Migration and operations — plan application migration, rollback, user roles, monitoring, patching, configuration backups and the division of responsibility with the IT team.
Delivery and acceptance — agree the exact equipment, software editions, license terms and implementation scope. Test application performance and recovery before acceptance; this is a reference design, not a verified bill of materials.
